Gadsden families and kids will get a few safety lessons during the 3rd Annual Spring Break Preparedness Day. Set for Tuesday, March 26, the event will take over downtown Gadsden to promote disaster preparedness for young people.
Sponsored by the Gadsden/Etowah County Emergency Management Agency and local businesses, the event will feature several learning stations with information geared to the 4 to 12 age group. Children will also meet and interact with local first responders while collecting preparedness tips. McGuffey Healthcare is one of the participating businesses.
April Conley, the facility’s administrator, believes the event is a great way to help children and families.
“This type of information is invaluable. You never know when you may have to use it to help save lives,” Conley said.
